can she just get an award or something

I reblog this whenever it pops up on my dash.

So many directions she could have gone with this joke…out of infinite possibilities…she picked the best possible direction.

Malcolm X: Our History Was Destroyed By Slavery

on March 17, 1963 in Chicago.

see how little we get taught about history - I never had any idea why Malcolm X used the ‘X’.

How come I didn’t know this

Also that crusty old white man called the named ‘gifted’. Jesus.

This is from an interview segment with Malcolm X on “City Desk”. The journalists opposite him, according to a couple places around the web, were “Jim Hurlbut, Len O’Connor, Floyd Kalber, and Charles McCuen”.

think the guy in the gifset is Len O’ Connor, who was a well-known newsman at the time. I can’t comment on his personal politics, because information on him is pretty scarce on the internet, but, y’know, old white guy in 1963.

Write your own comment about not being taught why he used the X — I never remember being taught it, I just…picked it up somewhere. US school system at work, I guess.
